Rome fest to fete Richard Gere

ROME -- Richard Gere is going to be honored through the Rome Film Festival, that has also employed Michael Mann to have an onstage conversation, and guaranteed sneak-look footage of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Beginning -- Part I."Gere, who'll get the fest's Marcus Aurelius lifetime achievement award, holds a public talk about the first stages of his career, carrying out a screening of the restored copy of Terrence Malick's 1978 "Times of Paradise," the pic where the thesp performed his first starring role.Previous readers from the Rome jerk include Sean Connery, Al Pacino and Meryl Streep.New introduced photos set to unspool in the Eternal City Extravaganza are Curtis Hanson's Cinemax financial thriller telepic "Too Large to Fail," out-of-competition, and James Marsh's docu "Project Nim," within the Extra section.
